By sharing our bountiful honey harvest from last year, we were able to raise generous donations thanks to our employees. These donations went to the registered nonprofit “Streuobst-Pädagogen e. V.” and had an immediate positive impact there: They made it possible to hold two lessons, each lasting several hours, for pupils at Neuhengstett Elementary School in a nearby orchard meadow. In this way, our honey harvest became a valuable contribution to environmental education and to raising young people’s awareness of nature, biodiversity, and the preservation of orchard meadows

On two Thursdays in late June 2026, the two certified orchard education specialists, Ms. Rose Kuch-Krämer and Ms. Sabine Ekenja, accompanied the pupils there. Under bright sunshine, they were able to convey various topics in a vivid and engaging way right on site. The children had the opportunity to share what they already knew and to learn new things directly from the fruit trees, meadow plants, and animals in the area.

The association “Streuobst-Pädagogen e. V.” makes a valuable contribution to environmental education. Its goal is to raise awareness among children, youth, and adults about the ecosystem and cultural heritage of the orchard meadow, which are worth protecting. Its various programs are designed to promote landscape conservation and the long-term preservation and protection of our endangered cultural landscape—the orchard meadow.
The presence of orchard meadows, in turn, benefits our bees, which find a rich variety of fruit tree blossoms and wildflowers there. Thus, in addition to collecting delicious honey, they also contribute to pollination and, consequently, to the conservation of many plant species and fruit tree varieties, some of which have become rare.

This year, too, a dedicated team of employees is taking care of our beehives—with great success: We’ve already brought in the first honey harvest.
